The Council has today published a new literature review examining the sentencing of offences involving modern slavery and human trafficking in Scotland.

The Council, along with the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research, and the Sentencing Academy hosted the Council’s second research symposium on 20 May 2025 at Edinburgh Law School, University of Edinburgh.

Council publishes latest newsletter
The Scottish Sentencing Council has released the latest edition of its Spotlight on Sentencing Circular newsletter. This is the first issue overseen by the new Chair of the Council, Lord Beckett who joined the Council earlier this year.
