Council launches new Facebook page

Recruitment
21st June 2023

21 June 2023

The Scottish Sentencing Council is now on Facebook.

As part of its statutory duty to inform and educate the public about sentencing, the Council is expanding its reach on social media with the launch of a new Facebook page.

The page will offer news and information on sentencing across Scotland, as well as details about the work of the Council and the sentencing guidelines currently in development.

These include guidelines on sentence discounting, death by driving, rape, indecent images, domestic abuse and environmental and wildlife crime.

The page will also promote the wealth of resources available on the Council’s website, including case studies and a jargon buster, and include details of research projects being undertaken by the Council.

A new video of Council Chair Lady Dorrian, the Lord Justice Clerk, talking about the work of the Council is also available to view.

To view and follow the new page, visit the Council on Facebook.
