Council releases latest newsletter

The Scottish Sentencing Council has released the latest edition of its Spotlight on Sentencing Circular. The newsletter features the latest news and information on sentencing across Scotland, as well as details of the Council's work. It also provides updates on sentencing guidelines currently in development and those in force.

Key highlights featured in this edition include:

  • Sentencing guidelines on rape offences have been approved by the High Court
  • The Council hosted a conference to mark its 10-year anniversary
  • A new easy read guide on sentencing has been published
  • Research into the public attitudes towards sentencing of environmental and wildlife offences has been released
