Webinar on sentencing guideline for rape offences

The Council recently hosted a webinar for legal professionals to provide an overview of the sentencing guidelines for rape offences.

A recording of the event is now available to view on the Council’s YouTube channel.

The webinar featured talks by Lord Matthews, former senator member of the Council, Lady Drummond, Council judicial member, and Victoria Young, Council advocate member.

The rape sentencing guidelines came into effect on March 3 and can be viewed here:

Please note that the webinar discusses different factors relating to offences of rape.
