Senator member to chair meetings

Lord Turnbull, the senator member of the Council, will chair future meetings until a new Lord Justice Clerk is appointed.

Council Chair helps mark International Women’s Day

Council Chair, Lady Dorrian, joined a group of leading Scottish legal minds to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day.

New Lord President

23rd December 2015

The Council’s Chair, Lord Carloway, has been appointed as the new Lord President of the Court of Session, head of Scotland’s judiciary. This means he will automatically vacate his Council position once installed in early January.

 

Engagement work

28th March 2017

The Council works to increase its understanding of all aspects of sentencing and engages with a wide range of organisations. It continued this ongoing work when members heard a presentation on ‘children and the sentencing of parents’.
