Solicitors and advocates interested in assisting in the development of sentencing policy and the preparation of guidelines for the Scottish courts are being invited to apply to become legal members of the Scottish Sentencing Council.

A website for the Scottish Sentencing Council has been launched, providing background information on the new body, ahead of its establishment in October.  Visitors will be able to keep up to date with plans for the Council’s creation through its dedicated website.

Appointments Regulations enter into force
