New members appointed to the Scottish Sentencing Council.
Two new members have been appointed to fill vacant positions on the Scottish Sentencing Council. Summary Sheriff Amel Elfallah joins the Council as a judicial member, while Louise Arrol takes on the role of advocate member. Both have been appointed for five-year terms by the Lord Justice General, after consulting the Scottish Ministers.

The Council’s solicitor member took part in a podcast with Aberdeen University’s Law Society, now available on their site 100% Legal.

New animated videos on sentencing young people guideline
The Scottish Sentencing Council has published three short animated videos about its sentencing young people guideline.

Recruitment of advocate member
Advocates interested in assisting in the preparation of sentencing guidelines and the development of sentencing policy for the Scottish courts are being invited to apply to become the advocate member of the Scottish Sentencing Council.
